King Edward Renewal - Art Commissions
Karl Ciesluk was selected as the finalist in the King Edward Avenue Renewal public art competition. Ciesluk’s work “Celebration of Growth” consists of giant aluminum lilies and fiddlehead sculptures along with seed pods made of local stone boulders. Placed strategically along the boulevard, the sculptures will enhance the landscape architect’s concept of returning King Edward Avenue back to the tree-lined boulevard that it was in the 1800s. Ciesluk’s public artwork will be installed on King Edward Avenue following the completion of the construction phase.
The following are images of the artwork that will be installed. The art is expected to be installed in the fall of 2010.
