Bike Lanes
There has been a desire to have bike lanes installed along King Edward Avenue over the years. Currently the avenue is not part of the City of Ottawa's official cycling network; however, City of Ottawa staff have stated on several occasions that they would support the installation of bike lanes. The City's policies for cycling also support the introduction of an improved cycling environment on arterial roadways with heavy, and sometimes fast, traffic such as is found on King Edward Avenue. It is hoped that bike lanes will be included as part of the reduction of lanes on the avenue.
